* Weapons: machine guns and antisubmarine rockets * Terrain: the Kiel Canal, Panama Canal, Suez Canal, and Scapa Flow

* Sensor tweaks allow aircraft and surface ships to behave more realistically towards U-boats * The Allied anti-U-boat campaign is initially weak but eventually becomes very strong, with historical antisubmarine minefields, stronger harbor defenses, bombing raids on U-boat pens, air interdiction in the Bay of Biscay, and antisubmarine hunter-killer groups * Engaging aircraft is more dangerous since aircraft are more resistant to antiaircraft fire, and some carry antisubmarine rockets later in the war * Engaging surface ships in gunnery combat is more dangerous since ships generally have more guns and can shoot more quickly and accurately than submarines, as they did historically Ships hit by one torpedo generally take longer to sink (by flooding) but players can sink them more rapidly by using two or more torpedo hits to inflict massive structural damage the deck gun is now largely ineffective unless you hit ships at or below the waterline

Some of the things we have changed include: GWX offers improved realism and environments, as we see them, without radically changing the way you play the game. GWX is a FREEWARE ADD-ON to Ubisoft’s Silent Hunter III that immerses you in the role of a German submarine (Unterseeboot or “U-boat”) commander during World War II.
